Job Description
Title: Assistant Registrar
Reports to: Registrar
Based at: Columbus, OH
Job purpose:
The College Assistant Registrar works directly with the Registrar, college management and other departments and is responsible for assisting with maintaining the academic records of all students and plans and implements the registration process for classes. He or she works with other school administrators to coordinate times and locations for class meetings and resolve scheduling conflicts. Other responsibilities include keeping records of all college classes and curriculum prerequisites, determining students’ graduation eligibility, preparing information such as honors lists, transcripts, and class rankings, managing the student registration process, and ensuring accurate daily student attendance process.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Associate’s Degree or related experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. with student management software; experience in building schedules for course delivery preferred.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies for the Registrar's office
- Maintain physical and computerized records including student files, progress and failure reports, class rosters, schedule changes, and grade books.
- Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools, setting up files, and entering student data into appropriate databases.
- Create attendance and records and monitor attendance data daily
- Coordinate grading process, including processing of scan sheets, verification and correction of grades, and printing and distribution of schedules or miscellaneous forms.
- Process and transmit requests for student information, including student transcripts for colleges and universities.
- Calculate grade point averages.
- Assist school administrators with the enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer of students and process applicable records.
- Assist school administration with the preparation of reports and student data information.
- Other duties as assigned.
