What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Faculty position at Felbry College School of Nursing?
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Institutional Advancement:
· Provides educational support for students by thoroughly understanding and implementing the learning resources necessary to identify and create an individualized success plan for each at-risk student.
· Represents FCSON.
· Assists the Program Director, Dean, or Assistant Provost as requested.
· Develops and maintains positive relationships or partnerships with the Colleges contracted and non-contracted learning sites and within the community.
· Collaborates with faculty, administrators and students to achieve the individual and class outcomes.
2. Academic Affairs & Administrative Duties:
· Works collaboratively with faculty, and supervisor in order to plan, develop, review and implement all policies and procedures related to student success.
· Oversees, supervises and manages students as necessary
· Enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.
· Contributes to identified metrics, and participated in overall evaluation of the assigned program(s).
· Communicates regularly with immediate supervisor, Dean and students
· Serves as the subject matter expert in area of teaching.
· Participates in campus activities such as student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, meetings, and new student orientations as available or as required.
· Maintains professional appearance for position and serves as a role model, leader and mentor to the campus community.
· Adheres to College policies and procedures.
3. Teaching (Teaching Support)
· Promotes an educational environment that values and fosters respect for diversity and equity.
· Responsible for teaching and evaluating each student’s achievement and progress.
· Organizes, implements and revises curriculum materials to comply with the College’s program standards.
· Creates instructional support materials utilizing appropriate support staff.
· Evaluates students’ progress in the course, creates, administers and grades tests, assignments, discussion boards, case studies and a variety of learning pedagogy.
· Contributes to the educational growth of the student through informal methods (e.g., informal counseling and/or advising, casual conversation, office hours)
· Works cooperatively with other faculty to meet student needs and accomplish the learning outcomes of the program.
· Follows regulatory and accreditor body requirements upholding hour contact/credit hour and meeting the requirements set for in policies, practices, handbooks, catalogues and guiding documents.
· Maintains current educational and professional development information on all applicable forms
· Remediates identified students at risk through seminars, remediation workshops, group tutorials and one-on-one tutoring to improve performance.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
