Position Overview:
We are seeking a Category Insights Analyst to join our growing Kroger-dedicated team. This candidate should be a detail-oriented and resourceful problem solver, who enjoys mining complex data sets, is a fast learner, and values ownership and collaboration as part of a dynamic, multi-functional team. You will play a key role in driving our team’s success, bringing differentiated category insights and actions to the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support category management and business development team efforts by analyzing and interpreting Kroger data and communicating conclusions and recommendations to clients.
• Generate and analyze weekly and monthly sales trend reports, using Market6 and PowerBI tools, to keep the team and clients informed of category, brand and competitive trends and opportunities.
• Develop insights for Kroger (KOMPASS) assortment reviews via sales, market and consumer KPIs.
• Conduct pricing and post-promotional event analysis utilizing sales and shopper data.
• Contribute to and actively participate in delivery of client and Kroger category business reviews.
• Assist cross-functional team with ad hoc needs addressing shelf, forecasting or inventory analysis.
• Translate data into actionable insights and quantify the benefits to brand and category growth.
Key Qualifications:
• 3-5 years in business analytics, preferably in consumer-packaged goods and/or retail industry.
• Preferred experience using Kroger-specific data and tools: 84.51 (Market6/Stratum), IRi (Circana).
• Superior executional skills with strong attention to detail and time management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic with high energy level, motivation, and enthusiasm.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
• A plus is experience using Power Query, SQL, coding software or subscription-based AI tools!
• Required: four-year undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related field.
