What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Feldmeier Equipment Inc?
Description
The Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Control Manager to ensure manufacturing meets the requirements on drawings (ie: applicable Codes and Standards, customer specifications, and Feldmeier Equipment SOPs).
Requirements
Essential Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verification of incoming materials and components
- Use XRF for positive material identification
- Proficiently use calipers and tape measure for inspection of parts
- Ensure manufacturing meets requirements on drawings (ie: applicable Codes and standards, customer specifications, and Feldmeier Equipment SOPs).
- Meet qualification requirements and maintain Certified Individual UM Certification
- Supervise welding tests as needed
- Verify correct build up from drawings
- Verify correct surface finishes are met
- Perform lay-out, fit-up, and final weld inspections
- Witness and sign off on hydrotesting of vessels and/or heat transfer surface
- Verify correct welding procedures are used
- Complete inspection reports and ensure travelers are correctly and accurately completed
- Create ASME and non-code nameplates
- Perform final inspection of equipment prior to shipment
- Work with production staff and Engineering
- Prepare internal Non-Conformance reports for review by the Quality Manager
- Communicate concerns to the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Manager
