The Job:
- Providing skilled and compassionate assistance to our Veterinarians and RVTs.
- Mastering gentle, Fear Free® restraint and handling techniques for cats of all temperaments – from purr machines to hiss-terical patients.
- Skillfully perform venipuncture, administer injections (SQ/IM), and collect other laboratory samples (urine, fecal, etc.).
- Provide attentive and compassionate care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring, administering treatments, feeding, and ensuring their comfort and cleanliness.
- Help capture perfect pics: Assist with and perform digital radiographs (including dental).
- Engage directly with clients, providing detailed education on treatment plans, preventative care, medication administration, and general feline wellness with clarity and empathy.
- Act as a vital communication link, accurately relaying client observations and concerns to the veterinarian.
- Prepare samples, run in-house lab tests, maintain meticulous patient records, and assist with pharmacy duties.
Who We Are Looking For:
- An individual with significant prior experience (e.g., 1-2 years) working as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency and confidence in venipuncture and other technical assistant skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – adept at both educating clients clearly and relaying important information effectively to veterinarians
- Demonstrated ability and comfort handling cats exhibiting fear, anxiety, or aggression using low-stress, Fear Free® methods.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive with a strong work ethic.
