Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced construction Supervisor with a strong background in the water/wastewater construction industry or similar heavy construction. The ideal candidate will occasionally work alongside crew members for training purposes and possess expertise in one or more areas of construction, such as finishing concrete, putting pipe together, installing equipment, setting edge and gang forms, laying out pads and walls, or shooting grade. This role requires advanced construction experience, leadership skills, and the ability to train others.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leads construction crews onsite, setting standards and drives project progress.
  • Leads crews on installations of process piping, equipment, concrete, and architectural features.
  • Builds projects under $7.5M, such as lift stations, well sites, retrofits, and job order contracting.
  • Manages the project schedule, coordinating daily with the project manager and crew.
  • Reports daily progress and maintains records, logs, and visual documentation of work completed.
  • Coordinates manpower and adjusts crew size as needed for project requirements.
  • Ensures materials are defect-free, inventories deliveries, and oversees temporary site facilities.
  • Schedules and coordinates inspections, maintains compliance, and enforces quality and safety standards.
  • Reviews work packages, project plans, and shop drawings, ensuring field installations meet project specifications.
  • Maintains as-built drawings and assists in generating RFIs with solutions for project clarity.
  • Trains and manages crew performance, providing feedback and addresses issues quickly.
  • Reports any equipment damage or needs to the Head of Operations for timely handling.
  • Conducts daily hazard assessments and weekly site safety meetings.
  • Completes all required safety training for self and crew, including certifications in first aid/CPR, confined spaces, and PPE.
  • Mentors crew members to improve safety practices and work quality.
  • Reports safety and vehicle incidents promptly and completes thorough documentation.
  • Ensures equipment is inspected daily, safely maintained, and efficiently managed for rental use.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in water/wastewater or heavy civil construction.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, English required.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Works under general supervision of Superintendent or Head of Operations.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors all site team members.
  • Communicates effectively, explains processes to less experienced crew members, and is proactive in addressing safety concerns.
  • Reads and interprets project plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Proficient in smartphone use, tablets or laptops, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD viewer.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

This position requires working on construction job sites in extreme temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools associated with the construction industry. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust and focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods, walk, sit, kneel, bend, reach with hands and arms, hear, and talk.
