What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Electrician position at Felix Construction?
Felix Construction is seeking Journeyman Electricians to work in the water/wastewater construction industry. The job involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment within industrial settings. Requires requires industrial electrical experience. All candidates must have a great attitude. Work is new build or upgrades to existing facilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment commonly found in industrial environments including field instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, level indicators and local control panels (LCP), programmable logic controllers (PLC), motor control centers (MCC), transformers, and switchgear.
- Install electrical systems according to industry standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in relay control logic, adept handling of 4-20mA signals, and a strong grasp of I/O signals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams and other technical diagrams
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred
- At least 4 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Able to terminate and set switchgear, panels & other distribution equipment
- Skilled and proficient at running conduit ½” – 4”
- Must be proficient at bending conduit ½” – 2”
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have good trade & NEC knowledge
- Good driving record required
- Must a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position requires working on construction job sites in extreme temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools associated with the construction industry. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust and focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods, walk, sit, kneel, bend, reach with hands and arms, hear, and talk.
