FSI inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Shop Manager to oversee

the daily operations of our busy and dynamic mechanical shop. The ideal candidate will possess

strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of mechanical processes, and a commitment to

safety and quality. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive individual who can effectively

manage personnel, equipment, and resources.

Job Summary :

The Mechanical Shop Manager is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the

mechanical shop. This includes planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the shop

personnel, ensuring the proper maintenance and repair of equipment, managing inventory, and

maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities :

Supervision and Leadership :
Supervise and mentor shop personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and
support staff.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
Conduct performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.

Shop Operations :

Oversee the daily operations of the shop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely

completion of projects.

Develop and implement efficient work schedules and processes.

Prioritize and schedule jobs based on urgency and resource availability.

Monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time, materials, and

equipment usage.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair :

Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all shop

equipment.

Oversee the repair and maintenance of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.

Manage relationships with equipment vendors and service providers.

Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in accordance with manufacturer

guidelines.

Safety and Compliance :

Enforce all safety regulations and procedures Including PPE.

Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.

Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

Continuous Improvement :

Stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices in the mechanical field.

Qualifications :

High School diploma or equivalency.

Proven experience as a Mechanical Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role.

Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, practices, and procedures.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage and motivate a team.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in using computer software for inventory management and other shop-related

tasks.

Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Hours of operation Mon-Thursday 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm Friday 7am-11am

Salary $65k-$80k
