Lead Truck Build Estimator/ Design Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Truck Build & Rebuild Estimator / Design Specialist to manage the quoting and design process for new truck builds and rebuilds. This role is critical in ensuring that all truck components—including PTOs, pumps, and other key parts—are properly configured to fit customer chassis specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in truck equipment, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with the Felker team and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quotation & Estimation:
• Develop detailed and accurate quotes for new truck builds and rebuilds.
• Assess customer specifications and provide cost estimates for parts, labor, and design modifications.
• Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure competitive pricing and feasibility of builds.
• Design & Engineering Support:
• Review customer-provided chassis specifications and recommend necessary design changes.
• Ensure compatibility of PTOs, pumps, and other critical components with the truck chassis.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sales and production to refine truck designs for performance and safety.
• Customer & Vendor Coordination:
• Communicate with Sales and customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to source components and verify lead times.
• Provide technical guidance to production and customers on available truck configurations and customization options.
• Project Oversight & Compliance:
• Ensure all truck builds meet industry regulations and safety standards.
• Monitor build progress and assist in resolving design or fitment issues during production.
• Maintain detailed records of quotes, design specifications, and project changes.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of PTOs and pumps.
• Ability to read and interpret truck chassis specifications and engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in truck equipment, mechanics, or vehicle design (preferred).
• Proficiency in quoting software, CAD software (preferred), and Microsoft Office.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
