Construction Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that all aspects of construction projects are financially viable. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and contractors.

Duties

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
• Utilize B2W software for efficient cost estimation and bid preparation.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines while ensuring adherence to cost control measures.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs and justifications for proposed budgets.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and techniques to ensure accurate pricing.
• Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information for estimates.
• Work closely with the construction team throughout the project lifecycle to monitor costs and adjust estimates as needed.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
• Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction management principles, including project management techniques.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
• Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes within the construction industry.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members while maintaining professionalism at all times.
