Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Paint Production Supervisor role located in Sauk Centre, MN. The Paint Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day paint operations, ensure quality control standards and production schedule, and coatings processes. The Paint Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the painting team and maintaining high standards of paint quality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred 2 years post technical degree is a plus
- Related Experience - 5 years
- Supervisory Skills
- Experience in Paint, Insulation, and Quality Control
- Knowledge of Coatings
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in the trailer or automotive industry is a plus
Essential Supervisory Job Duties:
- Hires, orients, trains and develops employees in his/her area of responsibility.
- Supervises and directs the efforts of employees in his/her area of responsibility.
- Assures that all employees’ performance is appraised in an objective and timely manner.
- Identifies the need for disciplinary action, initiates appropriate discipline and follows through accordingly.
Essential Specific Job Duties:
- Maintains a working knowledge of all department operations, functions, machinery, etc.
- Teaches and assures adherence to quality standards.
- Teaches and assures adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinates production with 2nd Shift and Weekend Supervisors.
- Monitors the production schedule, prioritizes work and adjusts staffing and production to assure deadlines are met.
- Notifies the Plant Manager when it is necessary to outsource work.
- Requisitions the purchase of supplies and equipment as needed.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Schedules employees in his/her area of responsibility, approves time off and ensures proper staffing.
