Position Overview
The next Fellowship Academy Head of School will be a dynamic leader, strong communicator, and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. Modeling a vibrant, authentic, and personal faith, the candidate will be a talented leader and administrator whose approach is strategic, collaborative, and characterized by the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others to achieve the mission of Fellowship Academy.
The candidate will be passionately committed to continuing Fellowship Academy’s legacy of Christian education and its dedication to academic excellence, biblical integration, discipleship, and most of all, serving our families. The new HOS will be a developer of people and possess business and organizational acumen, ensuring programs are in place to create an effective, efficient institution. The new HOS will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure Fellowship Academy stays on mission and achieves its year after year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Provide Spiritual Leadership
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity that radiates a passion for Christ
- Exemplify the characteristics of a servant leader
- Ensure a learning environment where faith and learning are integral
B. Provide Strategic Leadership
- Communicate the FA story and vision in a compelling manner
- Provide high-level strategic direction for the board, faculty, staff, and families
- Collaborate with and supervises a team of senior administrators
- Communicate effectively and in ways that unify our community
- Foster and maintain relationships between FA, local churches, communities and organizations
C. Provide Stewarding Leadership
- Inspire and attract new families and supporters with the mission of FA
- Lead the strategic development and sustainability of an enrollment management plan, a marketing plan, and a development plan
- Oversee advancement operations, including new campaign initiatives, cultivation of current and new donor relationships
- Recruit, develop, support, and retain exceptional administrators, teachers, and staff members aligned with the school mission
- Administer and monitor the operating budget, proper reporting to the Board, and good communication with the Board regarding financial outcomes and concerns
D. Provide Instructional Leadership to our school
- Encourage, plan for, and implement the professional growth, development, and evaluation of all employees
- With the Principal and faculty, develop and implement the stated curriculum, maintaining an updated curriculum guide
- With the Principal, oversee student issues of academic, social, spiritual, and disciplinary nature
Ideal Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Possess Masters of Education, Educational Administration, Business Administration, or Organizational Leadership
- Possess experience in educational leadership, preferably at a Christian institution
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to professional growth
- Illustrates a desire to be a true partner in the spirit of collaboration and transparency with all FA stakeholders
- Possess a deep, personal faith in Jesus Christ that is apparent in both word and deed
- Agree and advocate for the FA Statement of Faith
- Personally align with the mission of FA
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure plans and initiatives are supported
- Communicate in an exceptional manner while being approachable and accessible to stakeholders, faculty, and staff
- Create partnerships with parents
- Execute the mission and vision of the school
- Set long and short-term objectives and develop plans to monitor these
- Serve as a disciplined, dynamic facilitator of growth and excellence
In short, the new Head of School will be a talented leader whose approach is strategic, collaborative, and characterized by the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others, to achieve the goals and objectives of FA. While possessing the skill to lead strategic planning and resource development initiatives, the new Head of School will be an executor with the ability to drive change in a positive, productive manner and focus limited resources in areas that best enable efficient achievement of FA’s mission.
