Job Description
Fellowship House is currently seeking both experienced and entry-level behavioral health professionals to join our Forensic Services Team.
Our Forensic Services Care Coordination Team serves individuals adjudicated Incompetent to Proceed (ITP) due to mental illness or found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI). This program provides care coordination, facilitates access to comprehensive community-based behavioral health services through Broward Community Service Providers, and ensures individuals receive Competency Restoration Training as ordered by the courts to help them regain competency to stand trial.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Forensic Care Coordinators ensure that individuals receive the necessary mental health services, housing, and support to maintain stability in the community. They work closely with courts, service providers, and families to monitor progress and advocate for client needs.
- Competency Restoration Trainers provide court-ordered education on legal concepts, courtroom procedures, and individual rights to help participants regain competency to stand trial. Using structured lessons and interactive methods, they reinforce legal understanding and improve cognitive awareness.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, health education, or a related human services field
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills
- Willingness to provide services in community settings (e.g., detention centers, ALFs, private homes, hospitals, CSU’s, etc.)
- Ability to write professional reports for the court and provide accurate, well-supported recommendations
- Professionalism in working with court personnel
- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean record
- Background check & drug test required upon employment
