Job Description:
As the Director of Activities, you will plan, develop, and oversee a dynamic range of programs designed to meet the social, cognitive, and physical needs of our residents. You’ll manage and lead a team of support staff, volunteers, and drivers, while collaborating with our Memory Support Engagement Coordinators. From arranging outings and holiday celebrations to crafting monthly newsletters and coordinating educational seminars, you will be at the heart of community life at The Oasis.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all activity programs for our Assisted Living residents, including transportation for off-site events.
Prepare resident activity assessments to tailor programs to their interests.
Supervise activities support staff, drivers, and volunteers.
Design monthly newsletters and calendars for Assisted Living and Memory Support.
Plan and promote community events, seminars, and special celebrations.
Ensure the safe and efficient use of spaces, equipment, and transportation.
Maintain budget oversight and track department expenditures.
Keep our residents informed and engaged through posters, bulletin boards, and digital communications.
Serve as a shining example of the values and mission of The Oasis and Fellowship Square Surprise.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (experience in senior care may substitute).
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with senior activities.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Compassionate, energetic, and self-directed.
Tech-savvy and capable of using basic design or word processing software for newsletters/calendars.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
