Overview
We are looking for an experienced, mission-driven Advancement Communications Specialist with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for community engagement, and a background in fundraising.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for Christian Care/Fellowship Square.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a portfolio of Corporate and Foundation donors that align with the organization’s Mission and Values.
- Create giving opportunities through special events and sponsorships for Fellowship Square programs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for donors, developing and tracking strategies and interactions using Raiser’s Edge.
- Engage with donors through meetings and written communications, ensuring clear strategies for each donor’s cultivation and stewardship.
- Increase donor revenue year-over-year by aligning asks with their passions and interests.
- Assist the Advancement Team in securing new and renewed gifts for the organization.
- Record donor interactions in Raiser's Edge NXT promptly, and engage in thank-you calls and events to increase donor visibility and involvement.
- Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer to plan and execute cultivation events for residents, donors, and prospects.
- Identify and pursue relevant grant opportunities from both public and private sources.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of nonprofit fundraising and development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a job-related field.
- Excellent knowledge of Raiser's Edge database software or a similar system.
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach in a demanding role that requires a high level of energy and professionalism.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and a working knowledge of search functions for donor research purposes.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group of donors, especially elderly residents.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with competing requirements.
