TEMPORARY 5 WEEK POSITION (POSSIBLE long term position) Part-time experienced medical assistant--Delray Beach. eClinicalworks (ECW) experience required!
Busy solo female urologist looking for a medical assistant that is able to perform a variety of back office and patient-related tasks to ensure smooth patient and work flow within a mostly female patient population. This position performs a variety of patient care procedures including measuring patient vitals, catheterizing and dipping urine specimens, rooming patients to keep the patient flow on time. The Medical Assistant will enter medications and download patient entered information into eClinical/ECW EMR. assist the physician with the patient visit in the office, sterilize cystoscope, assist with cystoscopy and urodynamic set up, and complete all post-visit instructions. Inform the physician of schedule changes that may impact patient flow.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Assist physician during treatment/procedures, including cystoscopies, inserting catheters for urodynamics. Assist the physician with examinations and any other duties as directed by the physician.
- Prepare, restock and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established customary medical protocols.
- Update the patient medication list each visit and update the chief complaint each visit.
- Where applicable, perform specimen collection per established policies and procedure as directed by provider.
- Educate patients by providing information and instructions and answering questions as directed by the Physician.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with all applicable legal requirements and regulations.
- Triage and process messages from patients to the Physician.
- Represent the practice in a professional manner at all times.
- Be on time and provide sufficient notice and prepare a plan of action to ensure that role and responsibilities are covered during any absence.
Position requires initiative, superb administrative and problem solving skills, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Discretion and good judgement regarding patient and staff interactions is essential.
Prior medical office practice experience and eClinicalworks experience are both required. Monday-Thursday 8am-2pm. .
Position: Experience & Skills needed;
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Medical terminology and practices.
