What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding Inspector position at Fenagh Engineering and Testing?
Fenagh Engineering and Testing is seeking a CWI Inspector with NDT to perform inspections for the shop/field. To include the following: audits, inspecting structural steel fabrication and erection, material identification, welding to include joint fit-up, in-process welding, completed welding, MT & UT as required by code, and high-strength bolting inspections. Ideally this candidate will be an AWS CWI with either their Level I or Level II UT/MT certification from an ASNT Level III. Evaluation from our Level III for both UT (shearwave)/MT will be conducted upon hiring. This is a long-term nested position.
Most of the work will be performed at various locations throughout the country.
ICC / CWI / NDT – MT & UT Level II
General Responsibilities:
· Perform observation and inspection in the shop & field
- Collect MTR's for heat numbers and tracking
- VT on members in progress
- UT CJP's as needed
- MT Fillet Welds as needed
- High-strength bolting inspections & tests
· Compile daily reports outlining inspections and reporting deficiencies (if any)
· Read and understand specific project plans and specifications
· Communicate with project team regarding project requirements and inspection results
Requirements:
- AWS CWI Certification
-ICC Structural Steel Welding Inspector
- Level I or Level II UT (Shearwave)-Preferred
- Level I or Level II MT-Preferred
· ICC Structural Steel & Bolting
· Minimum 5 years of experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· General computer knowledge (Excel, Word, PDF)
· Able to travel to various locations
