What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Process Specialist position at Fence and Deck Connection?
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, systems-minded Business Process Analyst to join our growing operations team. In this role, you’ll serve as a key bridge between strategy and execution, helping define, refine, and enforce the processes that power our sales, finance, and field operations.
As we continue expanding into new regions and business units, the need for centralized process visibility, cross-department alignment, and accountability has grown. This role exists to ensure that well-designed processes are not only documented, but followed, maintained, and improved over time.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership and department managers to document, streamline, and standardize business processes across multiple teams and entities.
- Track and follow up on operational gaps, such as inconsistent installation methods, sales discrepancies, and process breakdowns, to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage and maintain internal SOPs, process maps, and team resources in Confluence or related tools.
- Monitor process adoption across departments and coordinate corrective follow-ups where needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives (new product rollouts, pricing structure changes, CRM/ERP enhancements) to ensure smooth handoffs and full execution.
- Support quality control in order entry, pricing, and job costing by identifying exceptions and surfacing them to the appropriate team or manager.
- Participate in periodic audits of workflows to ensure data accuracy, policy compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years experience in operations, systems coordination, or cross-departmental project support
- Strong process thinking and documentation skills (flowcharts, SOPs, etc.)
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar)
- Comfortable using Confluence, Excel/Google Sheets, and project tracking tools
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently across departments, including operations, finance, and sales
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable owning deliverables with limited supervision
Why Join Us
We’re an established company entering an exciting phase of expansion, with new divisions, products, and operational challenges. This role is a critical part of scaling up responsibly, improving transparency across departments, and ensuring our internal systems keep up with our growth.
You’ll work alongside high-performing teams that value autonomy, clarity, and smart execution, and you’ll have a real impact from day one.
