What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Event Team Member position at Fence Stile Vineyards & Winery?
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute all aspects of events, including planning, logistics, and on-site management
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event objectives and create customized event proposals
- Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses are within allocated limits
- Source and negotiate contracts with vendors, such as caterers, venues, and audiovisual providers
- Coordinate event logistics, including setup, teardown, and transportation of equipment and materials
- Oversee event registration processes and manage attendee lists
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and attendees throughout the event
- Assist with event marketing efforts, including creating promotional materials and managing social media campaigns
- Upsell additional services or upgrades to clients to enhance their event experience
- Tracking and reporting on events, monthly and yearly financials, and planning for continuous improvement and positive movement.
- Pour wines and spirits for tastings, discuss wines & and answer questions as appropriate.
- Share the history of the property and facility.
- Networking to foster innovative business development strategies to increase private and corporate events.
- Support and build long-term guest and industry relationships.
- Collaborate with the full team to grow Fence Stile and Nyx.
- Promote Fence Stile and Nyx at every opportunity.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or event planning is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of catering industry trends and market demands
- Familiarity with hotel or venue operations is a plus
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Excellent professional communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation, ability to problem-solve
- Wine knowledge is an asset
- Must be able to carry 40lbs (cases of wine) up flights of stairs
- Ability to work events which may be evenings or weekends
