ABOUT THE POSITION
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
This position is Full Time. Our regular hours are Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:30, with rare but occasional overtime. Job Location is on the West Side of Jacksonville. After 3 months of employment, employees are eligible for health insurance and paid time off (vacation/sick/personal days - this starts accruing on day one).
SPECIFIC DUTIES
An overview of areas of responsibility is below, however the nature of this position is flexible and there will almost certainly be projects and duties added.
Production Support Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials and supplies to maintain inventory for production operation.
- Support manufacturing operations with sound and accurate purchasing schedules.
- Analyze inventory counts, verify/perform inventory counts as necessary, and resolve any inventory anomalies in an expeditious manner
- Negotiate with suppliers for better discount prices for materials.
- Analyze potential suppliers and conduct an annual review of existing suppliers reviewing costs, quality, delivery, and other key factors.
· Audit and maintain records certifying quality of raw goods in compliance with third party Quality Assurance certification (audited annually).
· Secure the best price for all purchases without jeopardizing quality.
- Seek quotes, converse with vendors and place purchase orders via phone or by e-mail.
- Generate and submit purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Log all purchases into a purchasing system for proper tracking and classification.
- Confirm all orders and delivery dates.
- Coordinate deliveries and shipments of parts and supplies with department heads.
- Maintain files and records of supply purchases.
- Resolve part or source delivery or quality problems.
- Perform request to secure warranty credit and repairs for equipment that fails or arrives damaged.
- Reconcile shipments for damaged items, short and back-stock orders.
- Maintain a database of vendors and contacts within industry, both current and future suppliers.
- Assist manufacturing departments in setting inventory goals for parts and materials.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum two years purchasing-related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform above-mentioned tasks.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers.
- Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of various machinery, parts, etc., to ensure accuracy of purchasing and inventory functions.
