Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our administrative team. This position will work closely with our Billing Manager to support the financial and insurance aspects of patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates clearly with both patients and team members, and ideally has or aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage insurance pre-certifications and prior authorizations for surgical and in-office procedures
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage and communicate out-of-pocket costs with patients
- Review procedure codes and documentation to ensure accurate submissions
- Serve as a resource to patients with questions regarding insurance and financial responsibility
- Support the Billing Manager with claims submission, follow-up, and collections as needed
- Maintain up-to-date patient records in our practice management system (Nextech preferred)
- Help ensure compliance with billing protocols and HIPAA guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in medical billing or insurance coordination (plastic surgery strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with Nextech software is a plus
- Understanding of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and insurance verification processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
