Job Summary
Evurge seeks a talented and experienced Lead Records Management Specialist to work with a government client in Washington, D.C. The Lead Records Management Specialist will actively provide in-person Records Management Support in records inventorying, archiving, dispositioning, and digitizing. This initiative aims to address existing challenges, establish a robust framework, and transition the client to a fully electronic environment that aligns with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA requirements) and industry best practices. The project involves conducting a detailed Records inventory, records disposition, and completing the digitization process of paper records.
Responsibilities
The Lead Records Management Specialist will be the project team lead conducting associated tasks and providing necessary guidance for Records Clerks. The Lead Records Specialist will perform all related tasks and coordinate essential activities/issues to accomplish the work.
The primary job duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide advisory and consultation services regarding effective and efficient records management
- Collaborate with the records and information management program to meet their short- and long-range records and information management goals.
- Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
- Conduct records inventories, sort records, and ensure compliance with retention schedules.
- Manage records disposition processes, ensuring timely transfer of permanent records to NARA or Federal Records Center (FRC).
- Digitize physical records and maintain quality control throughout the process.
- Create and implement a Quality Control Plan for inventory, disposition, and digitization tasks.
- Provide regular reports and status updates to stakeholders on the progress of records management tasks.
- Attend project meetings to ensure alignment with FRA records management objectives
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in records management, library science, information management, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in federal records management, including compliance with NARA guidelines.
- Proficiency in records inventorying, digitization, and archival processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills for status updates and report generation.
- Experience working with large-scale records management backlogs. Requirements

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
