What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Development Manager position at Feonix - Mobility Rising?
One of the most important factors in Feonix’s success is the ability to understand and support the unique characteristics of each community. The Feonix Community Development Manager (CDM) serves as the “bridge” between Feonix team members, program sponsors, and the local community and is responsible for successful program implementation and sustainability.
The CDM will also play a major part in the technology implementation into the community, recruit and onboard new transportation providers, support the Mobility Leadership Circle in Southeast Michigan, recruit volunteers and corporate partners, manage the resources of the program, and make strategic decisions about the growth and direction of the Transportation Assistance Hub.
The CDM reports to the Director of Community Development and works closely with other Community Development Managers, the Operations Manager, and Community Operations Support Center team. The CDM is also responsible for supervising Mobility Navigator positions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support adoption of the Feonix Transportation Assistance Hub (TAH) and Initiatives in assigned service area, including outreach to local organizations
- Ensure that project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Complete required reporting for funding opportunities
- Communicate with sponsors about project status and results.
- Report on TAH metrics
- Participate in community events by presenting about the program, setting up a booth about Feonix, or attending an event on behalf of Feonix.
- Facilitate the “Mobility Leadership Circle”
- Lead Task Forces, such as the Sustainability Taskforce or Rider Advisory Council
- Take a lead role in fundraising, in conjunction with Feonix Development Team
- Under the strategic direction and support of the Feonix Development staff, source funding opportunities (grants, corporate sponsors, major gift donors, individual campaigns, events) to financially support the continued operation of the Transportation Assistance Hub
- Complete grant applications and proposals for local funding opportunities.
- Take an active role in maintaining the Feonix CRM
- Manage donor communications for local donors
- Assist with Communications material, such as social media posts and blog posts by providing stories and content from your service area
- Assist in testing the technology at an individual level and as part of user testing sessions
- Oversee local university interns who are supporting outreach and training efforts (where applicable).
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer drivers with direction and support from the Volunteer Manager (where applicable)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Must be able to work evening and weekends, as needed
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time (includes local and long-distance travel)
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3-4 years’ experience in Leadership and Fund Development or equivalent experience and/or education
- Must have lived in the community for 5 years
