Job description
Performs preventive maintenance, installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, rolling stock, physical structures, building, and pipe and electrical systems in accordance to safety and quality standards by performing the following duties.
Daily and prior to use, inspects tools for defective operation and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.Inspects the processing line(s), auxiliary equipment, and building for defects and/or improper functionality.
Requisitions maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies required for continuous plant operation.
Performs and documents preventative maintenance as scheduled.
Confers with Plant Management to resolve maintenance issues and recommends measures to improve operations and condition of machines and equipment.
Schedules in conjunction with Plant Management, the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance. Inspects and tests operating machinery and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Troubleshoots with the ability to dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Maintains utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric, gas, water, and air required for plant operations.
Fabrication of improvement opportunities for the wellbeing of the operation, equipment, and building structure as needed.
Must have the ability to read blueprints. Must have ability to rig machinery for installation and removal. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) combined with 3-5 years previous experience is required for this position.
Employee must demonstrate ability to master all essential aspects of position given reasonable amount of instruction.
Ability to read, interpret and understand written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, signage, work instructions, shipping documents, packaging tags.
Must possess adequate writing skills required to complete maintenance paperwork, inspection reports, etc. as required.
Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally or otherwise, to respond to real time situations were immediate communication is required.Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers;
Must have a working knowledge of common fractions and decimals.
Must be able to accurately read and interpret a standard tape measure and micrometer.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
