Job Summary

Manually move freight, stock, block, brick or other materials, or perform other general labor. Includes all manual laborers not elsewhere classified.

Education and Experience

Less than a High School Diploma

Skills

• Previous forklift experience.
• Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the work – including the ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, climb up, down and off of trucks/equipment.
• Some knowledge of mason materials and the ability to learn.
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform and understand basic mathematics.
• Ability to unload and offload materials as they are received.
• Ability to inventory products as they are received by verifying packing slips and BOL's and communicating any discrepancies with management at the time a discrepancy is discovered.
• Ability to process customer orders and load them onto trucks as needed.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain simple records.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe working space for yourself and others.
• Reliable and on-time on a daily basis, including transportation to and from work.
• Willingness and ability to learn the work practices and procedures applicable to construction yard operations

Work Context

• Adhere to all Company, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Reliable, Regular On - Time Attendance is required and essential to the operation of the team.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Be available to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary.
• Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors/managers with other duties as assigned.
• Perform all general labor duties and yard duties.
• Ability to stack materials, including block and mortar, palletize materials, shrink-wrap materials and load materials onto delivery trucks using forklift.
• Assist customers with pick up orders.
• Breaking apart, moving, reassembling, and oiling of barrier blockforms, placing mats as needed for decorative forms throughout the entire work day. This is a group effort and everyone is expected to perform this job responsibility.
• Clean up after yourself.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Primary Job Duties

Physical Demads:

The physical demands of the Yard Person position are essential to the performance of this job. Any change in these demands would fundamentally change the job. The physical demands require that the Yard Person be able to do the following:

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time often on wet, slick, and/or uneven terrain or surfaces.
• Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and/or toting up to 50 Lbs.
• Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, push/pull, climb, kneel, and twist.
• Must be able work both inside and outside, in the heat and cold, and around moving equipment.
