What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Support Leader (ISL) position at Ferguson-Florissant School District?
The overall role of the instructional support leader will be to support the work of the classroom teacher through coaching, modeling, data analysis, and planning. As well as support students with targeted intervention.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s degree in education with 3 years of experience.
- An endorsement in Reading K-12, mathematics 5-9, or ELA 5-9 preferred
- Excellent communication skills: writing, speaking and listening
- Must have experience working with adult learners, including coaching, designing, and facilitating professional development.
- Must have strong human relations and organization skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build instructional capacity of classroom teachers to deliver core district priorities.
- Coach teachers to improve teaching practice through professional development, modeling, and collaborative planning.
- Share successful instructional methodologies and practices.
- Provide high quality curricular training and resources to staff.
- Ensure learning environment and classroom instruction maximizes student learning.
- Conduct student instructional diagnostic evaluations, assess student progress, and develop prescriptive instructional programs to be implemented by the classroom teacher.
- Identify, procure, and/or develop modified curriculum materials to meet the needs of participating students.
- Provide supplemental instruction to small targeted groups of students.
