What are the responsibilities and job description for the VetTech- Mechanical - Summer 2025 position at Fermilab?
We are :
A VetTech Mechanical Intern provides routine technical support for area of assignment; typically, an experiment or support group. Depending on the area of assignment, fabricates, sets up, calibrates, operates, tests, repairs, and / or modifies a variety of mechanical equipment, systems and devices, or performs ESH duties including environmental surveys, waste disposal, and radiological surveys. Tasks are accomplished under direct supervision of a Fermilab employee and in cooperation with project teams, scientists, engineers, and support personnel and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
The intern may gain exposure to mechanical systems, fluid systems, construction planning, facility maintenance, crane and rigging, forklift and industrial trucks use, cryogenics, vacuum systems, tools and shop equipment, and reading schematics and engineering drawings.
Eligibility :
- Military experience
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.
