Our shop offers everything from expertly cut steaks to house-made sausages, specialty burgers, and seasonal prepared foods.
Position Summary:
As a Meat Market Associate, you are the face of Steak Shop—welcoming guests, offering expert recommendations, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You’ll work closely with our butchers, assist with meat preparation, maintain cleanliness and organization of the market, and help educate customers on our products and sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with product selection, cooking tips, and custom orders
- Maintain fresh and visually appealing displays in the meat case
- Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat cuts and prepared products accurately
- Assist with basic butchery and preparation under the guidance of our butchers
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures consistently
- Receive, inspect, and store deliveries properly
- Keep the meat case, prep area, and customer-facing areas clean and organized
- Educate guests about our sourcing practices, cuts of meat, and daily specials
- Support opening and closing procedures as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a meat department, butcher shop, or food retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and handling standards
- Strong communication skills and passion for hospitality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and grow within a high-standard, detail-focused environment

Pay: $16.88 - $18.39 per hour
