Extension Division Program Coordinator, Education and Cultural Learning Department (ECLD) is responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of ECLD’s suite of programming. Overseen by the Extension Division Manager, Program Coordinators will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a variety of assigned programs in support of ECLD’s core values (Leadership Development, College and Career Readiness, Native and Community Identity, and Academic Achievement). Program Coordinators will be responsible for liaising with program youth, their guardians, and community partners. Persons occupying the Program Coordinator role(s) should be positive, creative, and motivated individuals who work well in a team setting. 
 
Responsibilities and Duties 
• Collaborates across the ECLD divisions (Extension and Cultural Learning) on program planning, development, and facilitation.
• Act as programmatic lead for assigned programs. Including planning, logistical communications, curriculum development, program facilitation, community partner/presenter liaison, student and parent liaison, etc.
• Become familiar with the several different grant contracts to ensure programs developed are satisfying the conditions of ECLD’s grant agreements.
• Act as support to additional Program Coordinator(s)’s assigned programs.
• Support the writing of the narrative section of grant progress reports.
• Accurately record and track -participant attendance in programs.
• Work under the supervision of the Extension Division Manager to ensure programs meet grant requirements, comply with Tribal Code, and meet ECLD’s core values.
• Create fliers, advertisements, webpages, and social media posts for programs where they are assigned as lead.
• Oversee the summer programming.
• Oversee and support youth/adult volunteers and tutors.
• Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education or another related field.
• One to three years' experience working with youth 
• One to three years facilitating informal education programs
• Experience working with Native and Indigenous Youth Preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule. This position frequently requires the incumbent to be available to work weekends, evenings, and overnight programs. 
• Understanding of CA Native American cultures or willingness to learn specifics of FTBMI history and heritage.
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment 
Duties are performed primarily in the field, but also in the office. Travel is required to various locations in the region for meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, and site visits. Travel costs required for the job will be reimbursed at no more than the approved mileage rate. Evening and weekend work are required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Possible fieldwork may be required and subject to the environmental conditions of the season
• Ability to work in a standard office setting, with considerable sitting and viewing of monitor.
• Requires reaching continually throughout the workday (mouse, keyboard, and
• telephone).
• May include lifting thirty pounds on an infrequent basis. Proper lifting techniques are required.
• Must use a personal cell phone for communications with supervisors and Colleagues.

This position develops, maintains, and is responsible for safeguarding the computer/electronic and hardcopy file folders containing sensitive and proprietary information about FTBMI and its members. If hired, the applicant will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. The applicant must maintain confidentiality of all work and files pertaining to enrollment, clients, survey results, and all other material that may identify individuals by name (either directly or by reference), as set forth by FTBMI. Any violation in this matter may result in immediate termination of employment.
