Description
The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of the Museum, and other museum facilities and grounds. Assist the Director of Facilities and other facilities staff on daily tasks and long-term projects.
Major Functions :
- Perform basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs to keep the Museum facilities and equipment in good condition. The equipment includes HVAC equipment, kitchen equipment, plumbing systems, fire alarm system, lighting and electrical systems, and all exhibits.
- Direct and oversee work performed by custodians and Museum third party technicians.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as well as moving exhibits and other equipment as needed.
- Set-up, operate, and monitor audiovisual equipment including sound systems and projectors.
- Start-up and shut-down the building and exhibit systems as required.
- Train to operate theater and projection equipment and assist the theater staff as needed.
- Provide support to other Museum departments and fulfill other tasks as assigned.
