What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sales position at Fernway Procurement LLC?
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead a team of Account Executives in New York. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing statewide and regional sales strategies to meet the revenue objectives of the company, direct management and coaching of Account Executives, maintaining a best-in-class standard of customer service, and ensuring robust coordination between the sales and marketing teams.
The Director of Sales will report directly to the VP of Sales. The position is full-time with opportunities for on-site, remote, and field work.
Salary: up to $200,000 OTE (base and commissions)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Represent the company and its products with exceptional character, integrity, and professionalism.
- Generate sales revenue through implementation of statewide sales strategies.
- Work directly with the VP of Sales to develop and execute a highly effective sales strategy.
- Establish clear, targeted sales goals and monitor progress-to-goal regularly.
- Own pre-operational pipeline management, developing relationships with dispensary owners and ensuring smooth transition to Account Executives for ongoing management.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and present them to the Management Team.
- Track and analyze sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics.
- Sales team leader and direct management of Account Executives including coaching, field work, monitoring of KPIs, and account-by-account strategy development.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on special initiatives, product launches, events, and overall strategy.
- Collaborate with fulfillment and distribution teams to ensure accounts receive exceptional service.
- Ensure client data, sales orders, and account changes are kept up-to-date in Salesforce.
- Relay customer feedback to internal departments for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5 years of sales experience, including a proven track record of success in sales and 2 years of sales management
- Prior professional experience in sales management in the cannabis industry is strongly preferred
- Demonstrate an exceptional level of EQ in all professional interactions
- Exceptional sales skills, including persuasion, overcoming objections, active listening, and negotiation.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct at all times
- Comfortable with technology & computers
- Willingness to travel within the state of New York on a regular basis
- Strong attention to details
- HubSpot or other CRM experience preferred
- A genuine and extensive knowledge - and passion - for cannabis products is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Google Suite
- Must pass all cannabis regulatory required screening
