What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Ferrara Family Dentistry?
We are looking for a hard-working and friendly dental hygiene assistant to help us help our patients! Our high-tech office specializes in making our patients feel comfortable. Smiling faces and happy campers wanted!
Duties include:
- Escort patients to work stations and answer any general questions or forward patient questions or concerns to practice dentist when necessary.
- Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for dentists’ and hygienists' access.
- Actively provide hand instruments and materials to Dentist, Hygienist, or Dental Assistant, as needed, during exams and procedures in order to help maintain patient comfort and Dentist’s efficiency.
- Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.
- Preparing and presenting patient and office production statistics and reports.
- Assist with confirming appointments, collecting patient payments, preparing billing, processing insurance forms, reception duties, and scheduling patients for procedures when needed.
- Create or work with doctor to create and administer patient loyalty program.
- Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
- Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.
- Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
- Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
- Occasionally there may be some travel, by car or plane, required in order for you to participate in continuing education or seminars.
- Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.

Salary is negotiable and primarily based on level of competency and experience. Benefits include retirement plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and dental benefits.
