Job Summary:
Transport, unload, and deliver products and materials to customers within our coverage delivery area. Drive truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, such as narrow passageways. Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck condition. Maintain driver log according to D.O.T. regulations. Unload trucks at multiple stops, including some overnight deliveries to stores/restaurants, and other designated locations. Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service.
Essential Job Functions:
- Transport and Delivery: Operate company vehicles to deliver products to multiple local sites, ensuring all deliveries are completed on time and to specifications. Scanning items at the time of delivery is required at facilities that have a scanning system in place.
- Loading and Unloading: Regularly handle loads up to 80 pounds repeatedly, utilizing equipment like liftgates and pallet jacks for safe and efficient loading and unloading.
- Refrigerated Environment Work: Manage transportation in controlled refrigerated environments to preserve product quality, involving temperature management from loading to delivery.

- Placement: Carefully position products in customer-specified areas, which may involve navigating through tight spaces or into basements/cellars.
- Staging: Arrange products for immediate use or display according to customer needs.
- Customer Service: Uphold exceptional service standards, addressing customer queries or issues with professionalism.

Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring all components are in working order.
- Notify leadership of any damage or issues with the vehicle or equipment discovered during these inspections to prevent operational delays or safety hazards.

- Maintain accurate DOT logs to comply with hours of service regulations, recording all driving activities, breaks, and rest periods.
- Complete all delivery-related paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and inspection reports.

Maintain a Valid CDL Driver's License & valid DOT Medical Card:
- Ensure all endorsements are current and relevant to the job tasks.
- Regularly renew to avoid any lapses in validity.

- Hours of Service: Accurately log driving hours, ensuring compliance with federal and state limits on driving time.
- Vehicle Weight and Load: Adhere to weight limits to prevent overloading, which can lead to fines or vehicle damage.
- Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing seat belts, using reflective gear, and maintaining vehicle safety equipment.

- Turn in any records of inspections, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents to the supervisor immediately for company and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure all required documents are readily available for inspection by DOT officials.

- Participate in ongoing training or recertification programs to stay updated on new regulations or company procedures.
- Complete any mandatory safety or compliance training, such as hazardous materials handling if applicable.

Maintain a Valid CDL Driver's License & valid DOT Medical Card:
- Additional Duties: Be prepared to undertake extra tasks as directed by management, such as inventory management or special delivery requests.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess a Class A valid driver’s license and valid DOT Medical Card
- 2 years of verifiable experience preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a good driving record.
- Must be 25 years of age or older.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 80 pounds in order to unload trucks at multiple locations.
- Physical capability of pulling and pushing handcarts in excess of 200 pounds.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
- Driving for an extended period of time.
- Position requires frequent standing, lifting, bending, and moving of heavy-weight material in difficult work positions.
- This may include overnight deliveries.
- May be exposed to varying temperatures and seasonal climate conditions due to exposure, external of a tractor-trailer.
Salary to commensurate with experience.
