Director, Supply Chain Development

Job Location : Chicago

This role is based out of our corporate HQ located in downtown Chicago and will be a hybrid in-person / remote role and will require 10-20% travel.

The Director of the Supply Chain Development will play a pivotal role in leading, governing, and overseeing the execution of all supply chain related projects across the organization. This leadership position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives, optimize supply chain performance, and drive successful outcomes on time, within scope, and on budget. The Director will report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and will be responsible for developing project management frameworks and ensuring consistent and effective project delivery throughout the supply chain function.

Leadership & Governance

  • Ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives and projects aligned with business goals.
  • Define and implement project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the supply chain function.
  • Oversee the project portfolio, providing visibility into status, risks, and resource allocation to senior leadership.
  • Ensure effective governance processes are in place for managing project scope, timelines, and budgets.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage a portfolio of high-impact projects, including end-to-end supply chain transformation initiatives (e.g., demand planning, procurement, logistics, distribution, transportation).
  • Lead cross-functional teams, facilitating collaboration between supply chain, IT, operations, and other business units.
  • Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and remove roadblocks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to track project outcomes and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align project goals with the company's strategic priorities and long-term supply chain vision.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Promote a culture of innovation within the supply chain through the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Regularly communicate project status, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and present reports and presentations to senior leadership, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and transparent communication.

  • BA / BS; in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant project management certifications strongly preferred
  • 7 years of experience in project management and / or managing supply chain projects in the FMCG or related industry
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including logistics, manufacturing, planning, procurement
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with project management software (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar) and other supply chain management tools
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement

    Compensation

    The salary range for this position is $128,850 to $180,390 annually.
