The Benefits Analyst offers analytical and strategic support in the management and auditing of benefit programs to ensure efficient administration of group plans. This role involves overseeing assigned projects, collaborating with internal and external resources to ensure timely completion. The Benefits Analyst is a subject matter expert in the administration and governance of health and welfare benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in managing benefit documents, workflows, and employee inquiries related to employee benefits, including group health and voluntary benefit plans.
- Address employee inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes, and other general benefit questions.
- Improve benefits business processes to streamline operations within a complex, multi-layered organization.
- Conduct data analysis using various quantitative and qualitative methods, identifying key issues, and preparing detailed benefit reports and presentations.
- Assist in creating, reviewing, and updating employee benefit communication materials, such as open enrollment documents.
- Support compliance activities and government filings and ensure compliance with new government regulations by recommending internal process changes.
- Oversee routine and ad-hoc audits of benefit enrollments, terminations, dependents, and billing/funding to ensure continued accuracy.
- Assist with reviewing and processing all benefits-related costs.
- Maintain data integrity by regularly auditing benefit data between internal and external systems to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct annual benefit administration testing for plan changes, regulatory updates, open enrollment, and new plan offerings.
- Support wellbeing initiatives, including participation in annual strategic planning.
- Contribute to the administration of all benefit programs.
- Generate regular benefit reports, extract data from databases, and resolve any discrepancies identified.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, with 3-5 years of direct Benefits experience.
- Union experience is highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUP, IF statements, and pivot tables for data analysis.
- Capable of working independently, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information and records.
- Experience with Workday is preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
