- Undergraduate student at Ferris State University.
- Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher at the time of application.
- Have achieved college sophomore status as of spring of 2024.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic and personal growth of students.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a passion for helping people.
- Must be a Michigan resident.
- This position is not remote or hybrid. This is a face-to-face position.
- Must have availability for some weekend and evening work.
You will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to being employed.
It is required that Human Resources obtain and review a background report to due to the sensitive nature of your position. You will be asked to complete an authorization form for obtaining a background report.
- Students who were full time status in the spring 2024 semester and are enrolled full time fall 2024 at Ferris State University.
- Mentor students participating in Determined Dawgs Scholar Academy, offering guidance, encouragement, and appropriate support.
- Run nightly study tables to provide academic support and guidance to bridge program students.
- Facilitate daily check-ins with program participants to ensure their well-being and provide support as needed.
- Participate in weekend field trips and off-campus learning activities to enhance the students' educational experience.
- Collaborate with program staff to create a positive and inclusive community for all participants.
- Uphold program rules and university policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with the Program Coordinator, Director, fellow staff members and other appropriate campus partners as necessary.
- Training will occur June 23-27, July 1-2 and with the Academy running from July 6, 2025 through August 2, 2025.
- Employment will be June 23 through August 2, 2025..
