- Operate CAT 777 rock trucks (articulating dump trucks)
- May assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operators
- Responsible for knowing the following procedures : start-up and shut-down, parking, mounting, and dismounting, emergency, fire, and working with ground personnel
- Performs pre-shift inspection of equipment
- Communicates using two-way radio
- May perform minor maintenance activities
- Performs other duties as required
- May be required to lift up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the work day
- May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24 / 7 / 365 operation
- Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol screeningWhat we seek
- 1 years of machine experience in mining, quarry, construction, and / or earthmoving operations
- Must have current MSHA 5000-23 certification
- Perform physical functions per job requirements
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environmentCriteria / Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor or surface mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required
