Description : Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. As a Shop Assistant in our Millington, TN shop, you will work closely with our experienced team in the repair equipment and Fleet. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about mechanics and wants to gain hands-on experience in the field.
Responsibilities :
1. Lubricates and services all equipment and Fleet
2. Inspects for operating deficiencies.
3. Repairs and adjusts equipment and Fleet as directed and necessary.
4. Assists with repair records.
5. Assists Mechanic in establishing and following proper equipment maintenance methods.
6. Assists Mechanic in demonstrating proper use and care of new equipment.
7. Helps establish and maintain safety procedures for using equipment.
8. Performs general repairs and other preventive maintenance.
9. Conducts all work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards; guidelines, personal protection equipment etc.
10. Complies with all company policies and procedures
Requirements : Experience :
- Minimum 1-3 years of related assistant mechanic experience preferred.
- Ability to operate and repair Fleet and equipment safely within regulations
- Ability to read and converse in English for communication with managers and for safety reasons.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- May require a few nights out occasionally (not very often), company will pay per diem and hotel expenses.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; bend, stoop, lift, move, push, pull and carry boxes, equipment, tools etc.
