Job Description : Overview
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Performs condition assessment of plant and other assets. Schedules and coordinates work to be performed.
- Assists the Capital Works Manager to determine the best approach for bringing assets into contract compliance considering cost, timelines and efficiency. Plans and coordinates work plan schedules.
- Inspects in-process and completed work to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Supervisory responsibility including the performance management of crews. Facilitates all required new hire training and ongoing required safety and work standard training.
- Reports accident / injury (actual and near misses).
- Assists in the inspection, and control of fleet management system. Manage, monitor and control highway project assets and materials.
- Identifies opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency and cost reduction. Creates and manages successful completion of all work orders.
- Reviews claims for damages on the highway system for validity; arranges for collection of data on such claims.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion and entry of work reporting and timesheets.
- Prepares other reports and correspondence as necessary. Enters data into the HQMS.
- Communicates directly with staff, other contractors, external agencies and the general public to respond to complaints and issues, by phone or in person, on matters such as safety, entrance permits, road conditions, and work activities.
- Assists and monitors routine work plan activities such as traffic control and performing work.
- Required to be available for emergency response situations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Required to manage work in accordance with all MSDS and safety training.
- Other duties as assigned.
