What You’ll Do :

As a Deli Clerk, you will :

Guest Assistance : Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
Order Fulfillment : Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
Customer Service : Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience.
Quality Control : Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
Inventory Management : Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more.
Food Safety : Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards.
Efficiency : Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
Honor Commitments : Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
Support the Team : Other duties as assigned

To be successful in the Deli Clerk role, you should have :

Customer Focus : Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.

Communication Skills : Good oral and written communication skills.

Effective Problem-Solving : Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.

Safety Awareness : Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers.

Food Knowledge : Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

Full range of upper body motion.

Ability to work at a fast pace.

May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Schedule :

The Deli Clerk is an hourly position with a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
