Hours: 20-30 per week
Under the direction of the Community Involvement Team, the Public Relations Internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable event planning experience, build collaborative relationships with Festival partners, and grow leadership skills through tasks focusing on community engagement.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Community Involvement team and Festival Social Media team to promote events on behalf of Festival Foods
- Oversee and assist with the Festival Foods Fireworks across the state of Wisconsin to confirm event logistics, fireworks partners, City confirmations, etc.
- Assist with Festival Foods Turkey Trot sponsorship packages, on-site activations, and community partners
- Assist with the Festival Foods Big Cart, once in-season, for events and on-site activations
- Continously live Boomerang Basic #20 - Be a Brand Ambassador
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Pursuing (junior or senior status) B.A. in the following preferable degree(s): public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, human services or related field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to manage one’s own time effectively in order to meet required deadlines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Sitting or standing 50% of the time
- Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required
