• Fetch! Pet Care of Charlottesville is seeking Pet Sitters to service ALBEMARLE, FLUVANNA, and GREENE Counties.
• We're especially looking for candidates who are AVAILABLE FOR OVERNIGHT care.

Our pet sitters spend their time dog walking, pet sitting, playing with, and caring for pets on the pet's schedule. At Fetch! ESSENTIAL DUTIES HIGHLIGHTS

• Responsible for all pet care as requested by our clients (i.e. dog walking, playing with cats, cleaning up after pets, transport, simple pet grooming, administer medication)
• Meets with clients to gather pertinent pet care information and discuss requested duties
• Provide regular updates to clients using the MyFetch! app, which includes taking photos and logging journal entries for each visit
• Must compassionately complete all aspects of pet care, and keeping pets safe at all time is of utmost importance
• Anticipates issues that may arise (i.e. unexpected sick pet, avoiding conflict with pets from other households) and proactively problem solve
• Completes reasonable aspects of home care (i.e. keeping the client’s home safe and secure at all times, checking mail, watering plants)

CRITICAL THINKING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Basic knowledge of animal behavior
• Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, knowing you’re the communicative link for the client on the pet’s behalf
• Ability to exercise good judgement, problem solve, and multi-task
• Excellent time management skills
• Proven track record of reliability and consistency

MUST HAVE

• 18 years of age or older for regular pet sitting duties
• 21 years or age or older for pet transport
• Ability to successfully pass a background and driving record check
• Prior animal handling experience BEYOND your own pets
• Must be able to provide pet care in inclement weather safely
• Must be able to travel locally to client homes with your own reliable transportation
• Must have a smartphone with internet, texting, photo, email, and GPS capabilities and be able to use it accurately
• Must have a flexible schedule and understand that the job is “as needed” without a guaranteed number of hours
• High School diploma or educational equivalent

GREAT TO HAVE

• Knowledge of administering pet medication such as pills or injections
• Experience handling animals under stress

• We service year-round, and holidays are the busiest time of the year. We offer holiday bonus per visit on these major holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas

Major such as Spring Break, Winter Break, and Summer Break are also our peak seasons.
