As a Veterinary Surgery Technician, you will work closely with our surgical team to provide high-quality care to our patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Your expertise and compassion are critical in ensuring the success of our surgical services.
Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia administration, and monitoring
- Prepare surgical equipment/supplies and utilize proper sterilization protocols including autoclave and gas sterilizers
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of the surgical suite
- Monitor patients during surgery and post-operative recovery
- Administer post-operative pain management and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples for diagnostic tests
- Provide compassionate care and comfort to patients and their owners
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
- Previous experience as a Surgery Technician is preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia administration
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility with work schedule, including availability for on-call, weekend shifts and holidays
