We are seeking a proactive Production Supervisor to lead a team of hourly associates in achieving production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards. The role involves overseeing daily manufacturing operations, training and mentoring team members, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is best suited for a hands-on leader with strong organizational and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality targets are met.
- Train, mentor, and guide hourly staff in following SOPs, GMPs, and safety protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations, address workplace issues, and foster a positive team environment.
- Allocate labor, materials, and equipment based on production schedules, minimizing downtime.
- Monitor product quality through inspections, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, PPE requirements, and relevant certifications (e.g., SQF/ISO).
- Identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain accurate records, communicate progress to management, and meet deadlines in a non-climate-controlled, noisy environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 5 years of supervisory experience in operations is essential.
- Experience in food packaging, extrusion, or related manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership ability managing teams of 40 employees.
- Familiarity with ES&H policies and food packaging regulatory standards.
- Budget management, cost control, and purchasing oversight experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software tools.
