Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales and Business Development to lead our expansion efforts in the North American market. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales and business development within the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar energy. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience and a deep understanding of the North American renewable energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Market Expansion: Develop and execute comprehensive sales and business development strategies to drive growth in the North American solar energy market. Identify new business opportunities and markets for expansion.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, EPC contractors, investors, landowners, M&A advisors, IPPs, lenders, and commercial and industrial clients.
- Sales Leadership: Lead the sales team in achieving revenue targets. Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Proposal Development: Oversee the preparation of compelling proposals and bids. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with client requirements and company capabilities.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes. Utilize this information to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
- Brand Representation: Representing client at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and establish thought leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10-15 years of progressive experience in sales and business development within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and Battery Storage ( Experience in sales in Technical consulting, advisory and Engineering sales will be add on )
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Network: Established relationships with key stakeholders in the North American renewable energy market.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of solar energy technologies, project development processes, and regulatory environments.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, attend events, and oversee projects.
