- Full-time/Direct Placement
- 7:30a-4:30p/8:00a-5:00p (or until the last patient is seen - 5:30p)
- Does require floating to the Marietta location 2x per week
- Must have Upper Extremity, Casting & Athena EMR experience
- (2) Open positions - Must be Certified and or Registered as a Medical Assistant
- Pay Ranges Based on Experience $22 - $25 hourly
Medical Assistant/Orthopedic Technician Job Summary:
The Orthopedic Technician/Medical Assistant will provide clinical support to the Clinic Manager and Physicians by guiding the patient flow in and out of the clinic.
Medical Assistant/Orthopedic Technician Duties/Responsibilities:
- Observe the patient’s condition, report observations or concerns to the physician, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records.
- Obtain and record patient vitals.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
- Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
- Maintain stock items for examination and procedure rooms, and forms used by clinical staff.
- Apply and remove casts or prepare DME for patients.
- Perform X-rays in the absence of x-ray technician.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Medical Assistant/Orthopedic Technician Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidential records, and PHI.
- Proficient with EMR.
Medical Assistant/Orthopedic Technician Education and Experience:
- Completion of a certified Orthopedic Technology Training program preferred.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certification/Licensure – CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an Orthopedic setting.
- Must have worked with upper extremities.
Medical Assistant/Orthopedic Technician Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
