Collection Representative
Frozen Food Express is looking for a Collection Representative for our Lancaster, TX location.
We are seeking an experienced collector to join our AR department. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting outstanding invoices on accounts. You should be able to understand transportation terminology, negotiate tactfully, and persistently contact customers to resolve past due amounts.
Responsibilities:
- Persistent contacting of accounts payable departments via phone calls and emails in a fast-paced, goal-oriented department
- Provide customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, resolve discrepancies and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts
- Update account collection notes and enter problem notes concerning disputes
- Inform management and sales when escalation is needed
- Handle business to business collection calls, research and resolve invoice questions
- Identifies opportunity for and negotiates payment arrangements to bring account current
- Provides excellent quality customer service to all customers
- Resolves disputes and complaints from customers
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years commercial collection experience preferred
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); working knowledge of Getpaid and AS400 a plus
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
