Job Title: Clinician Shelter Care (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)

Location: Orangevale, CA

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 per year, DOE

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Preference for mid-shift through the week M-F. Some on call availability.

Role Overview: We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Clinician to join our team, specializing in child and adolescent clients within an emergency shelter care program. The successful candidate will provide acute therapeutic interventions, case management, and facilitate access to community resources. This role involves delivering group, individual, and family therapy, as well as meeting with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care. Strong knowledge of child welfare regulations and excellent documentation skills are essential. Flexibility to work evening shifts is preferred to accommodate client schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Valid and current licensure as a mental health professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for experience working with adolescents in emergency or shelter care programs.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of child welfare regulations and compliance requirements at state, local, and federal levels.
  • Skills: Strong therapeutic skills in individual, group, and family therapy; exceptional case management and documentation abilities; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible evening hours to accommodate client schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acute Therapeutic Interventions: Provide immediate and effective therapeutic support for adolescents in an emergency shelter care setting, addressing acute mental health needs.
  • Case Management: Develop and manage individualized case plans, ensuring clients receive appropriate resources and services.
  • Community Resources: Facilitate access to community resources, including social services, educational support, and health services.
  • Group Therapy: Conduct group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment for adolescents to share experiences and work on therapeutic goals.
  • Individual Therapy: Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of each adolescent client.
  • Family Therapy: Engage in family therapy sessions to support family involvement and improve family dynamics and support systems.
  • Treatment Team Meetings: Participate actively in treatment team meetings to discuss client progress, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate care.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to client care and discharge planning.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions. Ensure compliance with child welfare regulations at state, local, and federal levels.
  • Discharge Planning: Develop and implement effective discharge plans, including aftercare resources, follow-up appointments, and community support systems.
