Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-volume food manufacturing equipment, prioritizing personnel and food safety at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Respond and react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete maintenance projects, including PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
- Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
- Write parts requests, complete work orders, and write corrective work orders.
- FOLLOW ALL GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES (GMPs).
- Keeper of a clean work area.
- Perform building inspections and routines.
- Communicate effectively with other team members.
- Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic environment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF AC/DC MOTORS, MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUITS, AND PHOTOEYES / SENSORS, ETC.
- Knowledge of conveyance is a strong plus.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Familiarity with CMMS work order systems is preferred.
- Food manufacturing background with an understanding of FDA requirements is a plus.
- Good attention to detail and ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Familiarity with welding, machining, plumbing, pipefitting, electricity, and working knowledge of very strong magnets is preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
