Established in 1945, FGM Architects serves PK-12 Education, Higher Education, Faith-based, Municipal, Public Safety and Recreation, Federal and Corporate clients from our offices in Texas, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Virginia.
We welcome Architectural Designer candidates who are eager to take on the following responsibilities and possess the skills and credentials listed below:
Responsibilities:
- Working with the project’s Design and Technical Leads, assists in developing the design, implementing the building program, and preparing high-quality project documentation appropriate to each phase
- Experience in coordinating with other design disciplines (ie: Structural, MEP, Civil)
- Have an intimate knowledge of finish materials, both interior and exterior, with a focus on materials suitable for educational environments.
- Leverage expertise in PK-12 design requirements to inform technical decisions, ensuring practical, buildable, and code-compliant details
- Prepares presentation materials to communicate design ideas
Skills and Credentials:
- 8–12 years of architectural experience with a strong focus on PK-12 educational facilities
- Resourceful and strategic problem solver
- Motivated and self-starter personality
- Client-oriented personality with ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Capable of working independently and flexible in transitioning to team setting environment
- Proficient in Revit with experience in both preliminary design and construction drawings documentation; knowledge of modeling and rendering in 3-D software (ie: Enscape, Lumion, FormIT)
- Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program; candidates on the licensure track preferred
- LEED accreditation preferred
